The FCT Police have recovered three stolen vehicles in separate operations across Abuja and Akwa Ibom, showcasing swift action and intelligence-led investigations.
Woman Confesses to Buying Toyota Master Keys Online
On April 19, 2025, a gold Toyota Corolla (Reg. No. ABC 570 FJ) was reported stolen from the Federal Secretariat in Abuja. Police operatives from the FCT Command’s Scorpion Squad arrested one Yusuf Yunusa in connection with the incident.
Following further investigation, Yusuf’s wife, Blessing Yusuf, was arrested on April 25 in Kwali Area Council. She confessed to purchasing Toyota master keys from the Jumia online marketplace, which her husband used to steal vehicles. Blessing admitted to distracting vehicle owners during the thefts to assist her husband.

Stolen Mercedes-Benz Recovered in Life Camp
In another case, on the 28th of April, a car buyer in Life Camp reported a suspicious black Mercedes-Benz 4MATIC E-400 (Reg. No. AAA 07 KA). Investigation revealed the vehicle had been stolen from Lekki, Lagos. Police arrested five suspects: Idris Suleiman, Isiyaku Habibu, Ganiyu Sadiq, Idowu Akintunde, and Bello Muyideen. They confessed to stealing the vehicle from their employer. The car has been recovered.
Stolen Toyota Hilux Tracked to Akwa Ibom
Similarly, in a separate case, Mr. Chinwenze Chinaza reported that his driver, George Idung, went missing along with his unregistered Toyota Hilux Adventure. Acting on intelligence, officers from Mabushi Division tracked the suspect to his village in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, where he was arrested while trying to sell the vehicle. The vehicle has also been recovered.

Police Urge Public Vigilance
All eight suspects are currently in custody and will be charged in court once investigations are complete.

- Avoid isolated parking locations
- Always verify vehicle ownership before purchase
